Dearly loved father of Lucy (Sam) Cino and Rico Ferrelli. Cherished Grandpa of Sam Jr and fur-baby Abby. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Domenic immigrated to Thorold from Prezza, L’Aquila, Italy in 1951 followed by Lena in 1952. He learned and mastered the trade of plastering and owned his own plastering company for several years. He made the move to General Motors (17 Group) as a welder in 1960. He retired from General Motors in 1990 after 30 years service. He was always a hard worker, dedicated to his trade and always willing to help his family and friends whenever needed. He took great pride in working in the vegetable garden with Lena and caring for his fruit trees. His other passions were making wine and sausage. In the last few years he could even be seen helping Lena with the homemade pizzelles. He had a love for sports, especially hockey (a big Montreal Canadiens fan), soccer and bocce – which he himself played. He loved to dance especially at parties and wedding where he would get everyone up to join him as he lead them in the YMCA and Chicken Dance. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and relatives at the dinner table. We will miss our traditional family polenta birthday parties. A very special thank you to: Dr. Douglas Ralph (Diane and Anna) for over 30 years of “above and beyond” excellent care, Dr. Rabin and Dr. Quinn of the Nephrology Clinic St Catharines Hospital and John Henderson and staff of Henderson’s Pharmacy for their excellent service. The family will receive friends at the HAINE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00pm.
